Minnesota Historical Society Family History Overview
The Minnesota Historical Society has a variety of resources to help you learn about your family's history including vital records, and naturalization and immigraton records.  Contains links to numerous related resources as well as an easy guide for starting your research. 
Books and More
The Miller Center Library at St. Cloud State University has books and other resources to help with genealogy research.  These materials can be searched using the Books and More Search (MnPALS Plus) .

Books related to genealogy are going to be located on the second floor at call numbers starting with CS. 
Books related to Minnesota history are going to be located primarily in the Basement West at the call number F601-625.
Census Records
The Miller Center Library owns the following Census records for Minnesota on microfilm:

Federal Censuses of 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1890, 1900, 1920,  and 1930.
State Censuses of 1857, 1865, 1875, 1885, 1895, and 1905.
